1:13.2 | Wilson. Yes, we've got a couple on the show today. Dave and Anne are two people that my husband and I adore and love and we've gotten to spend some time with them this year and every single minute we get with them. We just love them for a couple reasons. I'm a one they have so much humility and their conversations around parenting and marriage. They do not come across as we are the experts. Let me tell you how to do this. They come across as we've been there. Done that. Let me tell you how we've learned from our mistakes and they just want to cheer us on in our marriages and as parents. It's |
1:43.2 | a great day. We talk about parenting. They released the book this year called No Perfect Parents. Ditch expectations and race reality and discover the one secret that will change your parenting. I do want to say that even if you are not a parent, you were still going to enjoy this conversation today because there are some truths and nuggets that go for all of us no matter what stage of life that we happen to be in. You guys my book God made you to be you, which is for those little kids in your life ages two to six has been out into the world for officially 15 days. And I am still |
2:13.2 | getting over the excitement over this book and Sammy the cactus who's the main character in this story. One of my favorite things is hearing what you guys love about the book and how it is speaking to your kids and your families. And I just want to read one of the reviews that someone left on Amazon recently. Someone said my children truly enjoyed this beautiful story about Sammy the cactus and his friends. My daughter said that's a really good book and my son said I think God is the best ever. This was a great little story explaining to them that they have a purpose and that God made them exactly who they're meant to be in life not to compare their |
2:43.2 | abilities and talents with others. We will enjoy this for many years to come as it will serve as a great reminder to us all God made us exactly who we are meant to be. Another friend on Amazon wrote I wish every child in the world could have a copy of this book. I do too. It is the most important message and something I wish I had as a child. It brought me to tears the first time I read it and my son asked me to read it over and over again. He never does that anymore. And it's like I could almost see it clicking for him and his confidence building as we read each word every child needs this book. You guys these are the |
3:13.2 | Amazon reviews. They are really, really sweet for me to read for sure, but they also help more people find the book. So if you've already gotten your copy of God made you to be you, would you do it's a favor and go over to wherever you bought the book and leave a review. It helps people find the book. And just like Katie said in her review, we thank every kid deserves to have this book in their hands. And if you haven't gotten your copy of God made you to be you you can get it wherever books are sold. All right, friends. Here's my conversation with Dave and Ann Wilson. |
3:43.2 | Welcome to the happy hour. Yeah, we're glad to be here thanks Jamie. Great to be with you. This is fun to have a couple on a couple that is so fun. Last time we were together. You were interviewing Aaron and I for your radio show. And this is maybe the first on this has ever happened. And I literally might say that it will be the last time it ever happened. Dave pulled out his guitar and sing a song on air that he had written the night before about Aaron and I. I'm in the studio of my guitar. I'm going to be going to do a |
4:13.2 | We love the. |
4:16.2 | I can't believe. |
4:18.2 | Yeah, I'm gonna have to share that with you guys because I thought that was just the most fun anyone's ever done in interview. So you guys are the best. |
4:26.2 | I love that Dave did it. He's so self assured. You know, he's totally this worship pastor, but Dave's like this will be awesome. |
4:37.2 | Yeah, like I'm gonna do that in front of a songwriter that does this for a liby. |
4:41.2 | I want that confidence that you have Dave Wilson. That's what I want in my life. That's what quarterbacks do. We think we can get it in the end zone every drive. |
4:50.2 | Speaking of quarterbacks, introduce yourself to all of my listeners because this is your first time on the happy hour. So tell them who you are and what you do. |
4:56.2 | You do. |
4:57.2 | Oh, |
4:58.2 | well, we moved to Detroit, Michigan 35 years ago to be the Detroit Lions Chaplin. That's what brought us to Michigan. |
5:07.2 | And I worked with their wives doing Bible studies and it was pretty cool. |
5:11.2 | Yeah, I mean, it's sort of interesting to think if you know anything about Detroit Lions, which probably you don't because they don't win. |
