Open podcast. This is the Busted Open podcast. One thing I loved was Ariel Hwani sat down with Paul Heyman.

And I want to play some of it and get your reaction.

Now, something that's been a bit of a topic, especially here on Busted Open, is the show

unreal on Netflix.

And again, kind of pulls that curtain back.

It's a new era. It's a new day.

Ariel Hawani asked Paul Heyman about the show on real. And this is what Paul had to say.

It's a reality of the industry today that I have to accept. I grew up in this business at a time when if you're in a bar

and someone walks up to you and says, you're in that fake wrestling business, notice the

southern accent when I say that. Um, no offense to all the people in the South, but if you don't swing, if you don't

defend the business and someone else sees it or finds out about it, you're catching an

ass kicking and you're getting shipped out of the territory.

That's the way it was

back then. All these stories of you hear of, you know, legendary bar fights of guys like Hakku ripping

people's eyeballs out, you know, show me how fake this is now, brother. You know, that's how we

were taught to defend the business and we caught the ass-kicking if we didn't

defend the business.

So that's where I grew up.

So to now be in a situation where it's so open to where it's not just this is how the magic is done, but we're going to show you the wires
