Yeah, that's kind of a crazy title for tonight's episode. It may not

make a lot of sense right now, but hopefully by the time we're done, you'll understand exactly why it is.

That the title of tonight's show is, hey, you Mormon kids, stop worshiping Jesus. Well, we start

off tonight's episode with a report of recent LDS News having to do with a concert

for the youth of the church. It's sort of a cross between a Christian rock concert and a seminary

video concert. It has to do with the performers of these seminary songs, which have gotten a lot more

interesting and a lot more up-to-date and a lot more upbeat since I was a youth in the LDS church

back in the late 1970s. We actually did have seminary songs back then. They came out on an LP,

by the way, that stands for long playing record. It was vinyl at the time.

You could probably get them in cassette tapes as well. But I remember having it on vinyl. And I think

the name of the record was called Odyssey, The Odyssey, something like that. And they had a bunch of

rather slow-moving songs on it. However, however, the songs have picked up in tempo.

They've picked up in their quality of performance,

and they've also picked up in sounding a lot more like the Christian rock concerts

that we as Mormon youth back in the late 70s and 80s were forbidden to go to.

And in fact, we kind of looked down on them because they were using

electric guitars. They were using drums. They were swaying. They were clapping. They were, God

forbid, raising their hands to Jesus. They were doing all these things that Mormon youth did not do.
