Republicans have been pushing President Biden for a deal for months.

But Trump, hoping to deny the president a win on immigration has been urging lawmakers not to make a deal with Democrats.

Posting I do not think we should do a border deal at all unless we get everything.

McConnell telling Republicans in a closed-door meeting that with Trump now likely the party's

nominee, they are in a quandary because they don't want to do anything to undermine his

campaign.

So there you go. Trump is saying out loud and

behind the scenes don't do a border deal. Mitch McConnell told the Senate

one president it's about a system.
