All right, welcome to the Kevin Wilde's podcast network. A lot of people have said, what's been going on with the other podcast episodes. And I don't know what to tell you. All of our podcasts, including our 6-7 podcasts, our current events podcast called, hold on, what? And what else? Oh, hold on. I read a book and I need to tell you about it. I'm really in the Stephen King funk now. But now it's time for our current podcast. Hey, what's going on?

0:35.3

Today's episode of Hey, what's going on is about three stories that happened in the last

0:41.0

week in sports that made me obviously say, hey, what's going on?

0:44.8

And they're all based around paying attention.

0:47.1

The first story is the Red Sox and the Astros, where in a normal baseball game, the Astros player, Cam Smith,

0:59.8

swung at a pitch and missed it twice. And then the Red Sox had maybe two errors on a stolen base.

1:07.5

Then the third pitch came in. It was a swinging third strike. And no one cared.

1:16.4

It was a three pitch swinging strikeout. And neither the Red Sox, the umpires, the Astros, or the fans who, it was in Houston, they weren't

1:31.4

incentivized to say, hey, it's not how baseball would work, should have raised their hand and say,

1:37.9

you're out.

1:41.4

I would have done it as a man of principle.

1:45.5

If that game was at Fenway Park and Roman Anthony was at the plate, I would have stood up and said, you're out.

1:55.1

You swang three times.

1:57.7

That's how it works.

1:58.5

So that's part one.

2:03.1

Part two was the Mets game.

2:11.5

Francisco Indoor is a great player. It was one out, ball to shortstop. He picks it up,

2:16.0

man on first, easy double play ball. He touches second base, starts heading to the dugout.

2:18.4

Just not thinking.

2:26.1

Later on in the game, he takes a lead off first base, starts fiddling with his sliding mitt,

2:29.2

and they pick him off, and he's just not paying attention.

2:32.9

So I was like, hey, what's going on, attention edition.
