Apollo 17, 38 years ago, just about exactly.

In December, 1972, you know, while Richard Nixon was president, the space age, the manned space exploration above low Earth orbit, which is what we're talking about.

You know, the Great Frontier ended.

As far as the United States is concerned, almost 40 years ago, Sputnik started the space race,

and Apollo 17 ended the space race.

We, you know, overcame a lot of people who said it was impossible.

The only people who were believing in it at the time mostly were science fiction writers,

like Robert Heinlein, take a drink, or Ray Bradbury, take a drink, or the rest of them.

But then we went and we picked a few rocks and we did some cool exploration and it's been

almost 40 years and we never went back.

We gave up.

We said, okay, we did that. Let's move on.
