Really excited to be joined by LSU defensive coordinator, Coach Blake Baker. Welcome back. It's great to have you in Purplen Gold. Glad to be back, man. It's been an honor to be in this position, but I'm definitely glad. My family's definitely happy, so all as well. Appreciate it. Let's talk about, it's been a whirlwind, obviously, seven, eight months. You get back and you put together one heck of a staff, some new faces, a lot of familiar faces. Yeah, you know, when Coach Kelly and I, you know, set down and assembled the staff, you know, really the cool thing is I've worked with with every single one of them at a previous stop before. So a lot of familiarity with who they were and I had a really good feeling of how we were going to gel, you know, together. It's been everything that I hope for and think they're doing a really good job.

Take me through Fall Camp, you know.

I know right now it seems like, you know, it's been months and it's been outstanding

to watch the way I think you unit to me has really progressed and gelled and playing good team defense.

Yeah, it's been it's been a journey, you know, even going back to spring.

I think the big thing that we were really trying to emphasize in spring was just a culture, you know,

just a shift in culture and how we want to play defense, the fanatical effort, the energy, the enthusiasm that

we wanted to play. And then as we got into the summer months and now into fall camp, you know,

we want to continue to have all those characteristics. But at the end of the day, it comes down

to execution, right? And I think our guys have really taken heed to, you know, execution and really working hard on being

great tacklers.

So I've been proud of the unit.

I think we have come a long way and excited to put it on display here in the next week or two.

You know, one of the fun things for you and also I think one of the biggest challenges

is each and every day you go against one of the best offenses in college football. Absolutely. I mean, they return, you know, arguably the best offensive line. And obviously, that's only going to make you better. Absolutely. It's been a lot of fun, you know, just competing, you know, the phrase iron sharpens iron. But I truly believe we all are the most explosive offense in the country. And it does start up front, you know, especially with those two tack those two tackles man right sometimes you don't know how good you are if you're any good at all at rushing the passer because those those two guys are so great in pass protection but at the end of the day hopefully we've been able to present the same challenge to our offense you know so that so they're getting better as well so let let's go through the position groups and we're going to start with the defensive tackles.

And I'll go back because we were all in Columbia, Missouri, and my old coach Pete Jenkins at the time was D-Line coach.

And we sat down and reflected on life and it's something now that one of his pupils,

Bo Davis, is now here as a defensive line coach,

one of the best in America.

And I look at this defensive tackle room,

and you have bodies.
