Hello and welcome to the Storygrid podcast. This is a show dedicated to helping you become a better

0:06.1

writer. I'm your host Tim Graal and I am a struggling writer trying to figure out how to tell a story

0:11.7

that works. Joining me shortly is Sean Coyne. He is the creator of Story Grid, the author of the

0:17.7

book Story Grid and an editor with over 25 years experience. In this episode,

0:22.7

we continue talking about the archetypes of the hero's journey. We go over some of the work

0:30.0

I've done on the mentor and the Threshold Guardian, and then we dive into the other archetypes

to do? Do we have a threshold guarding? Is the threshold guarding doing what he's supposed to do?

1:41.5

You know, each of these things and just immediately seeing, you know, he's supposed to do, you know, each of these things and just immediately

1:44.8

seeing, you know, holes and issues with the story, which is so hard to do when you're just

1:52.0

trying to like look at this massive words and say, what's wrong with this? So my, we went,

1:58.5

we made it through a couple different archetypes, you know, one was the hero. We didn't,

2:04.1

we kind of moved past that because it's pretty clear who the hero is. But then we looked at the
