And this is MassAp. School choice for military families is an idea whose time has come, according to Education Secretary Betsy DeVos.

DeVos recently voiced her support for education savings accounts for military families at this year's conservative political action conference.

An education savings account would afford them much different dynamic and approach to be able to get their education in the way that best works for them.

And if they don't use it all up in one year,

it can roll forward in that savings account

to be used for future years.

In 2017, Military Times did a survey of its readers. In the survey, an astounding 35% of the respondents

said that their dissatisfaction with their child's

education was a significant factor in their decision to remain in or leave military service.

40% said that they have either declined or would decline a career advancing job at a different

installation to remain at their current military facility because of high-performing schools.
