And while most discussions around specific energy types are complex and can take on any number

of angles, nuclear really is unique and its complexity from a policy standpoint. There are regulatory

issues, taxpayer issues, market intervention issues, there's even geopolitical issues.

What makes nuclear different is that folks can get almost religious about it.

They either support nuclear, like I mean they really support nuclear.

It's like they forgot that producing affordable, reliable energy is the objective of this whole thing,

and they get hyper-focused on just building reactors, where the United States will say,

we should be building nuclear reactors come hell or high water.

Then that informs everything that they say or think about it.

Then there's the other side.

These are the folks that just hate nuclear and they really really hate nuclear.

They ignore all the facts, the science, the lived experience that tells us that nuclear energy is a perfectly good, safe and reliable energy source.
