What's up everybody? Welcome into the next Pats podcast. I'm Phil Perry. We are still

hammering our interviews from prior to Super Bowl 57 out in Phoenix, had a chance to talk to so many relevant people as far as we're concerned.

As far as our Patriots fans, listenership is concerned. We got two great ones lined up for you today. We're talking to Shane Vorene, who eight years ago, almost eight years ago to the day, had an MVP caliber performance at Super Bowl 49 to help the Patriots beat the Seahawks.

And we're also talking to Walter Payton, man of the year finalist, Lawrence Guy. We're going to see if we can get him over the hump to get that award next year. Nobody does more in the community than Lawrence Guy,

one of the best human beings in that Patriots locker room that you could ever find.

We're going to start out with Shane Vareem.

We had a great conversation with Shane.

He's been on the podcast before.

He's doing some media work for the Pac-12 network right now.

And he had all kinds of interesting things to say about Mac Jones,

about how close he thinks this Patriots team is to truly contending

and is it closer than you might think?

Plus, what you really would love to hear, I'm sure,

from Shane Verne given his background,

what should the Patriots be looking for in their next third

down back? We talk about it with Shane, but they really didn't have that last year. Yes,

Ramandre Stevenson is a do-it-all type of player at his position, but do you necessarily want him

doing it all? Might you get more out of him if you're able to compliment him with a player like a Shane Verene,

like a James White, like a Kevin Falk.
