But it's a really good time because you just recently published a version of the book or an expanded revised version of your father's book.

But kind of give us the full story on the why behind this and, you know, what your experience with your father has been like.

It's a real honor.

My book is called The Old Breed, The Complete Story Revealed.

And the subtitle is A Father, a Son, and how World War II in the Pacific shape their lives.

So when my dad's book got published in 1981, the original unedited manuscript

reposed in the Archives of Auburn University. My mother inspired me to try to get my hands

on that original manuscript because she knew a lot of material had gotten edited out

when with the old breed was published in 81 so I did get my hands on that manuscript and I went

through and analyzed it line for line everything that didn't get published with the old breed I

highlighted and then and I'm really going to skip over a lot here we can go back and

unpack it if you want to but I wanted to bring that unpublished material to life that was

my inspiration and I put all of that unpublished material into my own manuscript and I used

my narrative as my own memoir of growing up with him, listening to him talk and

like everything with the old breed I grew up here in about straight from him.
