With that, let's get into the Word of God. Galatians chapter 6 today. We're going to begin a new chapter.

We're going through on Sunday mornings, the epistle to the churches in Galatia. Chapter by chapter,

verse by verse. We finished chapter 5 last week. And so today we'll pick it up in chapter 6,

which is the last chapter and only one verse

today which i hope you'll see why uh here in a moment but uh verse one galatians chapter six and

if you're able i'll ask you to stand you can follow along as i read if not that's all right

where you're seated is fine.

The Apostle Paul is by the Holy Spirit writing to the churches there in the region known at that time as Galatia.

We know it today as modern day Turkey. And he writes verse one brothers and sisters if someone is caught in a sin you who live

by the spirit should restore that person gently but watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted. Let's pray if you would join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, would you at this time settle our hearts, settle my heart, Lord,

and enable us by the Spirit to give you our undivided attention. We don't want any distraction that would keep us from that

which you have for us this morning here in your word. So Lord, would you minister to us and speak

into our lives, we pray. In Jesus' name, amen amen you can be seated thank you so today's

teaching is going to be part one of a new series that I've titled simply

helping the hurting one of the reasons for choosing this title is that as I was preparing my heart before the Lord to teach this chapter,

it became abundantly clear to me that there were Christians in those churches there in Galatia who were

really hurting.

They had been seriously hurt, and they had been seriously hurt at the hands of these legalists

that Paul refers to as they were called then the Judaizers.

And what these Judaizers slash legalists had done is they had infiltrated the church is undetected,

stealth as one translation renders it in the text. And in so doing, they had harmed and injured the believers by burdening them with the requirements of the law, namely and specifically that of circumcision.
