Hi everyone, Marshall here. If you've been paying attention to the news at all lately, you're likely very well aware that California is burning.

There's a big wildfire up out of Northern California that's called the Camp Fire. It has completely leveled the

community of Paradise, California. People are out of their homes. People have lost

their livelihoods because of this fire.

Well, last week, I was contacted by a home brewer

from Paradise, California, who is clearly struggling to deal with the devastating effects of this fire.

I'm going to share the voicemail that Dustin left for me.

Hey Brew, Lost Speed Podcast, this is Dustin. I'm from Paradise, California. We have a small

homebrew group Paradise and, you know, I don't know if you've seen the news lately, it's been pretty rough.

We've had a lot of our members, including myself,

who's not just our club because of our common community is gone. We've also lost all of our equipment and all of our beer, you know.

Sorry, it's hard to hear me, I'm choking back all the tears because I know, you know, I have 10 gallons of a big double Belgian that was just about to be cake this week

I had a nice need that was ready to go you know my beer fridge my big collection of all of our stuff is just it's all gone so you know as I was

listening to the podcast this morning on my trying to make it back to work today

it got me thinking, you know, it might be kind of a cool thing just that, you know, for your listeners to hear how we started as a small, you know, home-brew group in a little town and how we came together. We went to, you know, big events together, how we were donating our beer you know what we did as a community and a group how we have

food sessions together and thought it might be kind of a cool way for us to talk it, you know, talk through it.
