| 1:39.5 | One, that we have a whole lot of folks new to the city who are not experiencing this. |
| 1:47.8 | And that, two, that just the demographics of our city are really changing due to things like gentrification, lack of affordable housing. |
| 1:55.3 | And these things that make D.C. a city that is worth coming to that make D.C. special, I think are threatened, right? |
| 2:08.6 | Yeah. So these city, and again, not to say that cities like New Orleans are doing everything right, but they have identified that they have a unique culture that is being driven by black and brown folks that needs to be protected because people want to come to the city to enjoy and take part in that culture. |
| 2:16.1 | And in D.C., I worry that a lot of the talk of preserving that culture is not meaningful, right? |
| 2:19.9 | They will knock down places where black and brown folks live. They will put up condos that nobody can afford, and they'll call it the Ellington |
