Well, we're opening a new Word Series, and I think you figured that out already, but

just want to remind us that through time we're going to be opening God's Word.

We already did the whole Gospel of John.

Yes, awesome.

Now we're just shifting into the Book of James when we get finished with the Book of James.

We'll move on and dive into something else because we want to just keep opening up the

pages of God's Word.

The big difference in James that we are going to see from John, just to kind of catch

us all up, is that the Gospel of John is a narrative.

If you know your literature and your literary style, a narrative is like an eyewitness unfolding

of someone's life or a series of events.

And so the Gospel of John tells us Jesus came down, Jesus went to this village, Jesus met

with these people, Jesus spoke this way, Jesus healed this person.

And so as we work through the Book of John, almost in every case, when we take one chapter,

it worked to check a chapter to do that on the weekend, in the gathering, and then to

move on the next time to the next chapter.

James is not an narrative.

So if you've already tried to get a head start on James, you've learned there is more

truths packed into the first chapter of James than you can deal with in one setting.

Anybody figured that out by reading ahead?
