All persons having business before the honorable, the Supreme Court of the United States, are admonished

to give their attention, for the court is now sitting.

God save the United States and this honorable court. Hey, NurdCasters, I'm Nancy Cook, one of Politico's White House reporters sitting in for

Scottland.

And this week Supreme Court cases that might have slipped under your radar, I know they

slipped under mine what with coronavirus the tanking economy, really everything else.

But the cases argued on Tuesday and Wednesday will have lasting, lasting impact into our political and election systems.

Congress reporter Kyle Cheney is here to fill us in on these Supreme Court cases. I want to ask you just first off, how weird was it to listen to the Supreme Court arguments

over the phone.

As someone who's not typically a Supreme Court reporter,

I've never even heard some of the Justice's voices

because they don't, you know, there's no real televising of their arguments

and and so you know you have ideas of what people sound like and you have what they

actually sound like it sometimes doesn't always match up

thank you counsel justice tombs but also, you know, Clarence Thomas,

he actually asked questions, you know,

and he's notorious for never saying a word during hearings.

Yes, thank you, Chief. Council...

And now he's engaged in asking questions, so you sort of feel like you're witnessing history

while listening along.
