We've been able to go and get the audio portion of the arguments that were in front of the Supreme Court arguing the Heller case. That's the famous DC

gun-band case. Very unusual for them to release the audio this quickly, but they

know how big a case this is and because we're gonna talk we went and got it for you okay

So basically stand by we're gonna play this for you these are the arguments by both sides and from the Solicitor General's Office of the United

States of America in front of the U.S. Supreme Court.

It's Heller versus the United States.

It's the DC gun ban case, the most important gun case in the history of this country, and you get to listen to it because you listen to the gun talk podcast.

We will hear argument today in case 0.7-290, District of Columbia versus Heller.

Good morning, Mr. Chief Justice of Med please the Court.

The Second Amendment was a direct response to concern over Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution,

which gave the new national Congress the surprising perhaps even the shocking power to organize,

armed and presumably disarm the state malicious.

What is at issue this morning is the scope and nature of the individual right protected

by the resulting amendment.

And the first text to consider is the phrase protecting a right to keep and bear arms.

In the debate over the Second Amendment, every person who used the phrase bear arms

used it to refer to the use of arms in connection with

militia service.
