Today, we're going to look at a location in the rural backwoods of Michigan that is wildly

considered to be one of the most active paranormal hotspots in the country.

It's a place where documented history and local folklore have become so intertwined that

separating one from the other is no longer straightforward.

In many ways, the reputation of this place doesn't come from a single story. It comes from an accumulation

of them. Lay it over time until the line between what happened and what is believed to have

happened becomes very difficult to define. It is just after midnight on a Tuesday in late October. The air and Algoma

Township carries that sharp early autumn cold that settles in quickly once the sun goes down.

It's the kind that lingers and deepens the longer you stand still. A young man and his friend

have just pulled their car into a small dirt turnaround at the

end of a narrow gravel path known as Frisk Drive. There is no traffic, there is no nearby houses,

and no ambient noise beyond what the woods allow. When they shut off the engine, the quiet

that replaces it is immediate and complete.

It's not the absence of sound, but a contained environment where every noise stands out.

The wind moves through the branches above them and somewhere deeper in the woods,

Cedar Creek can be heard moving steadily over rock and fallen debris.

They're not there for any practical reason.

They came because of the story.

It's something they've both heard about for years, passed along in fragments, repeated

enough times that it has taken on a kind of a local certainty.
