Today, we have two leading scholars to explore the biblical case for two different views of hell: eternal conscious punishment and conditional immortality (annihilationism). Hey, friends, welcome to a special extended conversation on how biblically we should think about hell.

The topic of hell has actually been heating up, and yes, that pun was intended.

There's been a lot of conversation between the traditional view, what's known as the eternal conscious torment or eternal conscious

punishment, and what's called annihilationism or conditional immortality that says,

at some point after the final judgment, death entails nonbelievers will seize existing

and no longer live. I invited into the studio, Paul Copan, a philosopher who takes a traditional view,

and Chris Date, who takes what's called Annihilationism, and he's a leading proponent of this view

to walk through the six main biblical texts that scholars debate about this.
