The citizenship test.

Oh my god I'm nervous.

Oh, yeah, at first I thought, hmm, should I wear like, I had a, I was wearing a red

t-shirt.

I thought, ooh, should I wear like a blue and white sweater so that I'm going in the

Star Spangled Banner colors? Then I thought, yeah, maybe not, maybe that's a little much, you know.

That's a little much, you know. That's Helena de Grute, getting ready for her American citizenship test and this is her father,

Betash de Grut playing the piano in Belgium where Helena grew up.

Helena is a radio producer in New York City,

and when I found out she was about to take her citizenship test,

I asked if she'd be willing to record herself

talking about what it feels like to become an American and she agreed.

Here's Helena.

Yeah, I think I know more now about the U.S. government than I know about the Belgian government, which I guess is normal. I mean a lot of people who

asked me about those questions for citizenship exam.

Americans, you know, they didn't know the answers to that.

How many amendments are there?

My friend said, I don't know, 25?
