In the rural American state of Montana, over the past week,

a small, elegant courtroom has been the scene of a historic trial.

It has these incredible high or neat ceilings and it was packed especially on the first day in

large part with kids. Taking up the first two rows of seating in the courtroom,

which has seats that are sort of like church pews.

Dana Nour has been there covering it for the Guardian.

In the jury box, which is also sort of set up like church pews, there was media from all over

the country. There was such an incredible energy walking into the courtroom each day.

You could feel the kids kind of buzzing with excitement as you walked past them.

The people bringing the case are children and young people,

who say the adults running this state have a legal obligation to maintain a healthy climate.

Day after day on the stand, they've been telling the court those adults have failed.
