Hello, welcome back to Scripture Central. I'm Lynn Hilton Wilson. And I'm Jack Welch. And Lynn, we are so

excited today to be able to talk about Samuel the Lamanite. And we have three chapters on Samuel,

chapters 13, 14, and 15. He is a central prophet here in the Book of Mormon. In a way, he's right

there in the middle of the Book of Mormon. Everything before has led up to this,

and everything after will then play out as the Nephite nation will eventually be destroyed.

And Mormon will remember these prophecies of Samuel the Lamanite.

What do we know about Samuel the Lamanite?

Well, we don't know anything really specific, but there are lots of general things aren't there.

I mean, we know that he was a Lamanite.

Here we are in the book of Hilemon.

It starts out with Nephi and Lehi going down to the land of Nephi and converting a lot of Lamanites in an amazing experience.

And that, of course, is following up on the Stripling Warriors, where the Lamanites in an amazing experience. And that, of course,

is following up on the stripling warriors where the Lamanites and the Ammonites have integrated a lot with the Nephites. It's the 86th year of the reign of judges. So the Lamanites have been

receiving messages of missionaries for 86 years now since the time of the sons of Mosaic went back at first.

So we don't know if he's one of the people of Ammon, when he's the people that were converted

by Lehi and Nephi. Those are all possibilities. Yeah, we don't know. How much does he know

about the scriptures, though? Oh, I think he knows them well.

In fact, he even quotes King Benjamin.

He quotes King Benjamin.
