I'm going to read from a book called Panzer Leader by Heinz-Gudarian.

If you're into military history, you probably know his name. He is very well known as one of the

captains of the invasion of Russia. So I'm going to read a chapter titled The Campaign in Russia,

but contextualize it in today because it ended up being just a

catastrophe for the German people, really Hitler led them into a brutal, vicious war. And by

1945, the Russians were in Berlin. And the U.S. had already made a landing and they had a two-front

war that they didn't expect.

So there were all these challenges that cascaded from this crazy decision by Hitler,

who's a maniac, drugged out.

And this Panzer leader was published in 52.

Guderian died in 54.

But he was also known for being an exponent of armored columns, right, armored warfare,

and kind of made his name for that.

So he had a book before this in the 30s called Octum Panzer, but his memoirs, there's a lot of contensions about how honest he was.

I don't think anybody writes a memoirs, really that honest, honestly.
