It's 2021 and the season's about to kick off.

And that means it's also time to kick off Life in the Peloton.

New season, 2021.

I'm very excited. I'm very excited to be back with

the cycling podcast again. And I want to welcome my co-host here, Lionel Bernie. Mate, welcome

back to the series for another year. Thanks very much, Mitch. Welcome back for a second year

collaborating with us on the cycling podcast. We're really excited to see what you've

got in store for us for 2021. I'm very excited too. I felt like the limits were pushed last year and

we discovered a whole new way of doing things, which was great. But I'm going to start this year

with a banger. I've got my good mate on there, Heinrich Haussler. He's an Australian, but he's also half German.

It's a really interesting story.

He's just an interesting guy, and I've been wanting to get him on the podcast for a long time.

Well, this is a rider whose career I know really well.

I mean, it kind of pulled me up short to realize he's been a pro for 15 years now,

making me feel slightly

senior, turned pro for Gerol Steiner in 2005, and he's also ridden for the Sovello test team,

which became Garmin Sevello after a merger, rode a few years with IAM cycling, and currently

with Bahrain, who are going to be called Bahrain victorious this year, aren't they?

And, well, he's a sprinter, a classics man. British listeners may well remember. Heinrich

Hausler was the man that Mark Camerdish pipped by the narrowest margins in 2009 Milan San Ramer,
