three hours ago, Taylor Heineke was signed by your Washington football team to, according to Ian Rappaport,

a two-year contract extension worth $8.75 million.

There are some incentives in there, according to Rappaport, on how many games he starts.

But a solid, you know, what I would call money-wise, a solid backup quarterback deal.

Now, I've got five or six takeaways from this signing,

and I've got Ben Standing from The Athletic, who was kind enough in the midst of writing his

story on Taylor Heineke to jump on the podcast because I want to get his thoughts as well.

I was a little bit surprised that this happened now.

I actually thought that the tender process was going to be used with him, but it wasn't.
