top aides to Defense Secretary Pete Hegsef, followed by reports of a second signal chat thread,

this one, including Hegseeth's wife and his personal attorney.

At least one news outlet, NPR, citing an anonymous official saying that the White House now is

looking to replace Hegseth.

But in public, President Trump's standing by him saying he is doing a great job.
