Before we continue with our story today, I wanted to remind you about our audio scavenger hunt and how to participate.

A few days ago, Jonah and I shared with you a story called The Velvetine Rabbit.

This is one of my very favorite stories from when I was a child. My challenge for you is to listen to that story or have your grown-up

read it to you, and then send me the name of a made-up story that you think was inspired by

the Velvetine Rabbit and why. As long as you can give a reason for the

story you chose, there are no wrong answers, and one kid who participates will receive their

own velveteen rabbit as a gift from me, Steve, Jonah, and Jesse.

When we left off, Olive, who had befriended a hedgehog named Hector during a family trip to New Zealand,

was searching for ways to help the hedgehog and his family move to Europe.

Hector wanted to move to Europe because he had learned that hedgehogs in New Zealand were hunting a species

of ground nesting bird called the black-fronted turn to extinction. But it was a long way,

all the way on the other side of the globe from New Zealand to Europe, and none of the ideas

they came up with seemed like they would work. After talking through many ideas, the friends took a break to be with their families and

agreed to meet back together in the evening.

That evening, after spending time with his family and seeing them warmly tucked into

the hollowed out log where they slept, Hector went back to the
