All right, everybody, welcome back to another edition of The Teardown.

My name is Jeff Buck, and I'm off my co-worker Jordan Bianchi. We are motorcycle

trackers for the athletic and Jordan is at Atlanta Motor Speedway where he has just witnessed the

new Atlanta, I guess, super speedway style race. Wow, that was definitely not what I expected.

Jordan, we have a lot to talk about after this one.

That was quite an eventful day.

What did you expect?

Yeah.

What did you expect going in after watching the Truck Series race?

After watching the Xfinity Series race, what were your expectations today?

Because mine were, I didn't think we were going to see a lot of passing.

I thought it was going to be kind of side by side racing, pack racing, but I didn't think

we were going to see much passing outside of restarts.

And what I witnessed today was not that it was, there was passing.

Well, yeah.

I mean, as I've said here multiple times even on the podcast, I did not think that the new Atlanta was going to work. I did not picture the reconfiguration being able to produce a super speedway style race at a one and a half mile track. Just didn't think that was possible because look, the bottom line is NASCAR has been wanting to do this and trying to do this,

hoping to do this on intermediates for a long time now.

That's why they went to the whole 550 package in the first place.

I mean, Brian France back in his day had talked about wanting to have, you know,

super speedway style type races, you know, all the time, except for short tracks, obviously.

You know, back when they first did the 550 package and all that stuff, they talked about,

you know, we want to have, uh, we don't want to have the wall of sound.
