Hey guys, welcome to day 58.

We're in the book of Hebrews.

This letter was written by an unknown author.

There's kind of some controversy over who wrote it.

But we do know it was written to a Jewish audience of Jewish Christians helping them kind

of bridge the gap between the Old Testament and now Christ, the Messiah, the coming Messiah

of course, fulfillment of prophecy and all of that.

And so it's a really great book of the Bible.

I love Hebrews chapter 12, which is called the Hall of Faith, where it lists out so many

great heroes of the faith in what we can learn from their examples.

And it starts out, or actually that's Hebrews 11, right after that Hebrews chapter 12,

verse 1, is what we're reading today.

It says, therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life

of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so

easily trips us up and let us run with endurance, the race, got us set before us.
