Eric, last week we got through Chapter 11 where we got to hear the great hall of sinner saints,

and we got to hear how, guess what, faith is the thing that God has always been looking for.

He can never find it, so he has to deposit some of it here and there,

and as he deposits it into people, he is pleased with it.

And this is how he's always saved people, and this is always how people have found favor

in the eyes of God based on the gift that he gives, that gift of faith.

And the argument, of course, that the author of Hebrews is making is that, look, you don't need to go back to a sacrificial system or have any other bet hedging go on.

You got Jesus.

It's the thing that all those people were believing in, the promise of Christ.

They had faith in the promise that God was going to send a

Savior. That Savior has come, and just because he's now promised to come again, and that hasn't

happened yet, don't lose faith. You will be saved the same way that all the other people
