The Hebrew Roots movement is a deception and it's not because the people involved in it don't love God.

It's not because they are not sincere about scripture, but I say this all the time, okay, you can be sincere and be sincerely deceived.

Because sincerity does not make something true.

And this is one of those places where devotion is being hijacked.

Because at its core, what the Hebrew Roots movement is doing is what religious deception has always done.

Right?

Remember, the Bible explicitly says, the word of God is a sword.

That means, like any weapon, it can be handled correctly or it can be used to wound, manipulate, and pull people out of God's will. Like we

literally see this in the wilderness when Satan is quoting scripture to Jesus.

You know, he's not making things up. He is quoting the word, but he's twisting it, misapplying it, and using it out of context to steer Jesus somewhere God never sent him.

You see, that is religious deception and that is exactly what's happening here with

Hebrew roots theology this movement takes real verses real commandments real parts of the old testament

and then uses them to slowly move believers who were set free by Christ now back under a system

that he already fulfilled.

And it's like so subtle too because deception always is.

You know, no well-intentioned believer comes out swinging and says, hey, Jesus isn't enough.

No.

What they say is, oh, if you really love him, if you really thought he was enough, then they start

handing you laws and Sabbaths and feasts and food rules and calendar rules. And before you know it, your spiritual

life starts getting measured by what you observe, what you do or don't do rather than who you

belong to. And by the way, it feels holy to do things this way. And that's why it works so well.
