Luke chapter 15, verses 3 through 7.

So Jesus told them this parable,

what man of you, having a hundred sheep,

if he's lost one of them,

does not leave the 99 in the open country

and go after the one that is lost until he finds it. And when he has found it,

he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his

neighbors saying to them, rejoice with me, for I found my sheep that was lost. Just so, I tell you,

there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents

than over 99 righteous persons who need no repentance. What a beautiful story. And here's what

I'm thinking about when I read this passage today. I'm thinking about somewhere

I was preaching recently as a smaller group. At the beginning, I said a few minutes from now,

I'm going to invite people in this room to trust in Jesus. And I knew it was a room of mostly

followers of Jesus, but I just said, I'm going to give an

invitation at the end for you to stand in this room, which I know would be a bold thing to do

with everybody looking, and to say, today, I want to trust in Jesus as the Savior and Lord

of my life. So we got to that point at the the Savior and Lord of my life.

So we got to that point at the end.

I invited people to stand, and one person over here on the side stands up.

One person boldly stands up, and the whole room erupts in applause.

And everybody's cheering, and I'm standing there just thinking about this picture from Luke 15 of all of heaven going nuts like rejoicing what a picture of joy in
