Our scripture lesson today is coming from Psalm 78, verse 70 through 72.

Notice there these words, he chose David, his servant, and took him from the sheep pens.

From tending the sheep, he brought him to be the shepherd of his people jacob of israel his inheritance

and david shepherded them with integrity of heart with skillful hands he led them we're talking

today from the subject heart promotion, heart promotion.

God has a way of promoting us when our hearts are right.

This is in reference to King David, little David, the shepherd boy, who was faithful tending the sheep,

and God noticed how his heart was while he was serving sheep,

and he knew that if he was this faithful serving sheep, that he would also be faithful serving God's people.

And I want you to notice here that David was not just somebody that had a good heart but he was also the Bible

here says that he had a heart of integrity and skilled hands. You need to take people with a good

heart and skill their hands. And let me say this to you. It is always easier to take people with a good heart and to bring skill to their hands

than it is to take people with skilled hands and give them a heart of integrity.

So I think it is very key the way that the Bible says that David shepherded them with integrity of hearts and with skillful hands he led

them it's not one or the other you need both I mean if you run in a business you

don't need just people to have a good heart around you you need somebody to have some

skilled hands you need to know how to do something you'll get a mop boy get a broom hey hey come on do this you know you need somebody to have some skilled hands you need to know how to do something you'll get a mop

that's what apprenticeship is about is is when you've got people that have a good heart and it is

capacitating them giving them a skill by which they're able to make a make a living in their life so

you have a good heart
