exploring personal approaches to spirituality around the world.

For this episode, I'm in Tbilisi, Georgia,

where one community is radically rethinking the way that different religions can come together. Peace Project is a little laboratory to show to show that it can happen that people of different faith

traditions can live together, can worship together, can appreciate each other's

each other's scriptures each other as traditions.

It is in the genes of the Peace Cathedral

that when we come across anything that is ugly, we tend to confront

agliness with a project of beautiness. So I'm walking along an alleyway in the heart of Tabisi, Georgia's capital.

And coming up on my left is a pretty unassuming building.

From the outside it looks a bit like a nightclub or a disused warehouse and you definitely wouldn't realize it but behind these doors a pretty radical experiment in interfaith relations is going on. It's one of the world's first projects to bring three houses of

worship, a church and mosque and a synagogue together under one roof. And it poses a

question of how the three Abrahamic faiths and many others can learn to coexist at a time of rising religious tensions around the world.

I'm here to meet the man whose brainchild this is. His name is Malchaz Songelashvili and he's the

Metropolitan Bishop of Tablisi.

Oh there you are. Nice to meet you finally.

Very well, welcome. When I first meet Bishop Malchaz, I'm struck by his impressively bushy white beard and half-rimmed spectacles that make him look a bit like Professor Dumbledore from Harry Potter.

But beneath his quirky appearance lies a man of profound seriousness.

He tells me how the Peace Project, his initiative to bring together multiple places of worship took shape

nearly a decade ago.

We saw ugly faces of Islamophobia, anti-Semitism in the country, rising, and then we decided we had to react to it.
