Today we have a guest, another medical professional, kind of following up on last year.

When I had a foot doctor and a night doctor on the podcast, the responses were very, very good.

In the people thought the fact that these doctors hunted, they brought a lot of perspective to what we do and important stuff to, well, just our activities.

So, after that last summer, Dr. Weston Adkins, who is a doctor of audiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, writes his article,

and my name pops up in it. I'm like, who is this guy? So, I reach out to him, turns out he's life-long hunter shooter.

And he's a big advocate for proper hearing protection. Mostly, I would say, whatever you have, take care of it, kind of, is sort of his theory.

Well, at least in the articles I've read. But he's here and he's going to talk to us about the real facts behind hearing loss about noise, decibels, some comparatives.

He sent me a worksheet of how loud certain things are and how in the hunting space, some of the things we do are not.

Well, we already know they're conducive, but he also has some numbers, like 50% of people out at the range, even youth, do not wear hearing protection.

And you'll hear me say a lot, don't be like Randy, because I'll end up telling my story about how my hearing got compromised due to shooting, big part of it, and why I don't want anyone to be like me.
