What's up, Motivators? Today's podcast guest is Lauren Kelba. I came across Lauren on Instagram when we

shared a little bit of a bonding session over, go figure what we've been talking about over the last

several months here, balance, and actually having appropriate balance to all of your endurance training

and not just going after suffering and

only suffering. Lauren has her master's and her background is in largely goal setting for adults,

which I think is really, really relevant to us endurance athletes. Essentially, the only goals

that we end up setting for ourselves

are super time-based and very, very A-type. And if we don't end up getting the exact time

or better that we want in a race, an entire training season might be a complete failure.

But that's not really healthy. And that's not really realistic. Just challenging

ourselves and stepping up to a sport and a task that we really have to work at in the lead

up to it and is really challenging. And very few people in this world are actually able to do.

That in itself is a success. So I think we need some balance
