Welcome to the Boneyard with Steve Robertson. As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson.

Here on the Maroon Friday edition of the yard, you probably didn't think you're going to hear from me today, but I got it all worked out, brought the gear with me, got an opportunity to sit down and record a show for you today.

I don't know how long we go, maybe we go the full 90. We'll just kind of see how things go.

But good to be with you and good to be able to celebrate Maroon Friday as we choose in the

wonderful country in which we live. Which reminds me, too, I get these reports all the time

about, you know, the hot sheet, right, where everybody is

listening to the show and that sort of stuff. Guys, we get an incredible amount of saturation

from other countries. And I say that as I turn you guys up a little bit because it's amazing to me that people all over

the world listen to the show and I know there are Mississippi State fans and I got a message a while

back I wanted to share with you that you know it kind of makes all this seem so much more

worthwhile to me.

Had a young man that messaged me from South Mississippi and said that, you know, he stationed overseas in the military and he said that he loves the show and one of the things he loves most about the show is he gets together with a couple of his buddies that are fans of other SEC schools, and they listen to podcast, especially as it gets closer to college football season.

And they just kind of have a guy's night, right?

They sit around, have a beer or two, whatever, whatever they do, right?

And they talk about, you know, college football.

And they listen to podcasts from LSU and listen to this podcast.

And it's become kind of their nightly ritual and

the bottom line is it said hey Steve thanks for giving me a little bit of home a little bit of

Mississippi and so I don't say it enough but for those of you that are in the military that are

doing a job that I would never want to do, and just be quite honest with you.

Had the opportunity to do it, like all other young men, elected to pass on it.

And a lot of people doing a job out there, a very dangerous job, a job that requires them to be away from their families, an awful lot, and be in harm's way.
