| 0:17.0 | What I saw confirmed the following. |
| 0:28.0 | In South Kodofan, we have the worst war and the worst hunger catastrophe within Sudan, |
| 0:33.9 | which is, in turn, the largest humanitarian crisis on earth today. I met with countless women, children, because it's really women and children, |
| 0:39.9 | fleeing from besieged cities, including Cadugli, the biggest city, and they're fleeing from |
| 0:47.3 | horrific violence, but also from a famine declared inside there, because we cannot get into this besieged city without |
| 0:57.0 | food. |
| 0:58.0 | And what are the some of the stories that they shared with you? |
| 1:00.0 | Well, I met with several of these who are young, single mothers now, because their story |
| 1:07.4 | was that in the morning, our husbands went to search for food. |
| 1:14.5 | Then a drone came and bombed and torched our home. |
| 1:21.1 | So we fled, one with a nursing baby on her arm and four other kids below the age of nine. |
| 1:32.0 | They walked for two, three days to the camp where we in the Norwegian Refugee Council give them food and emergency aid. |
| 1:41.4 | And they haven't heard from their husbands and fathers. |
| 1:45.9 | And now we have the biggest gap anywhere in the world between urgent needs and available |
| 1:53.6 | aid where too few organizations on the ground and were overstretched and underfunded. |
| 1:59.3 | As we saw in the story that preceded our conversation, |
| 2:02.1 | General Burhan, the head of the Sudanese armed forces, |
| 2:05.3 | described where you just went as liberated. |
| 2:09.0 | Is that how the people who you spoke to see it? |
