Hello, welcome to Inside the Huddle, our weekly chat about all things the NFL.

We've got so much to talk about this week.

First of all, Happy New Year to all of our viewers.

We are going to get into the coaching firings around the NFL,

talk about the playoffs. Coming up, just 12 teams remain on the road to Super Bowl 53.

Jeff Reinboldt joining me and former NFL offensive lineman Brian Baudinger, now of the NFL

network. Jeff, before we get into all of the fired coaches, so we've got eight job

openings in the NFL. There are 32 teams. So a quarter of the league, even my bad math

tells me a quarter of the league has its head coaching jobs up for grabs. This is a tough time

a year for head coaches. It used to just be Black Monday, but a couple went on Sunday as well.

This is tough for coaches and the assistants.

Well, yeah, and when you think about it, you don't just fire the head coach typically.

When there's a coaching change, there's a shock wave through the organization.

It can go as deep as trainers, film guys, personnel guys, all the way through an organization.

So there are a lot of families and a lot of people's lives are affected when they make these decisions.

Let's have a look at the head coaches who did get fired this season.

So Hugh Jackson and Mike McCarthy went during the regular season.

Dirk Cutter of the Buccaneers went on Sunday night,

as did Todd Bowles of the New York Jets.

Then Monday in quick succession,

Adam Gay, Steve Wilkes, Vance Joseph, and Marvin Lewis
