Summary

It started as a thrill-seeking midnight adventure — a teenage dare to sneak into Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst, New Jersey. The moon was high, the skyline glowing faintly in the distance, and two friends were ready to spook themselves a little.

Then, through the silence of the graves, a figure appeared. A man — tall, broad-shouldered — walking slowly toward them, boots crunching gravel in the moonlight. At first, they thought it was a cop, maybe security. But as he got closer, the details became clear: a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, chaps, and the faint jingle of spurs.

In a calm southern drawl, the stranger asked, “Y’all know if the gate down there’s open?” They froze. Nodded. He tipped his hat, smiled, and said, “You two have a nice night now.”

Was it a spirit from another century still patrolling his last ride? Or something else wearing the image of a cowboy in the middle of New Jersey?

Whatever it was, they both saw him — and they’ll never forget the sound of those fading spurs in the dark.

It's kind of nice when it's just one of us that has like a load of shit to unload it at one of these nights. because when it's both of us, it's like, oh, it's 10 o'clock and we haven't started recording yet. And I could have really early in the morning. There's been more than one night. We finished up like 1130. Yeah. Oh, well. And so it's kind of nice.
