On June 20th, 2017, Albert Johnson, also known as Prodigy, who was famously known as being a part of the 1990s rap duo Mobb Deep,

died from an apparent accidental choking while hospitalized for his existing sickle cell anemia disease.

He was only 42 years old.

At the time, Prodigy was on tour in Las Vegas with fellow rappers, Ghostface Killa,

Onyx, KRS1, and Ice-T.

Now, despite being born with sickle cell anemia, Prodigy had managed the disease well,

and got used to his daily life with a chronic illness.

He once said, quote, it made me a better business person, having sickle cell, and it also

stopped me from

destroying my body with drugs and alcohol and all that. It's like a domino effect. That caused me

to be a better person, because when you take care of your health, you start looking at life different,

and you start looking at people different, and your actions and your thoughts different, end quote.

If you know anything about Prodigy, you know that he did look at life and people differently.

From the time he was a teenager, he was passionate about researching conspiracy theories,

and later became heavily involved in uncovering the theories behind the Illuminati, which

potentially, according to some individuals online, could have been what led to

his death. He also wasn't shy about his beliefs. He was very vocal about what he thought was

going on in the world through his lyrics, interviews, and even on his own Twitter account.

So on today's episode, we're going to be examining Prodigy's life and his extremely mysterious

and bizarre death.
