The Oh, uh, oh, oh, oh, hmm.

Ooh, hmm.

Oh, hmm.

And, um, hmm. Oh, you're going to do you. Sometimes in the middle of personal trials or worldwide catastrophes we can find ourselves wondering if God has abandoned us.

Halister Begg is teaching from the opening verses in Micah, chapter 5. Now muster your troops, O daughter of troops. Siege is laid against us. With a rod, they strike the judge of Israel on the cheek. But you,

O Bethlehem, Frata, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler

in Israel, whose coming forth is of old from ancient days.

Therefore he shall give them up until the time when she who is in

labor has given birth, then the rest of his brothers shall return to the people of Israel.

And he shall stand and shepherd his flock in the strength of the Lord,

in the majesty of the name of the Lord his God.

And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth and he shall be their peace.

Amen.

In my preparation I've been referring to various books that are familiar to me and in one

of the books to which I turned written by J.B. Phillips, he said this. He said, we face today a world torn and divided.

The worldwide tensions and sufferings seem more overwhelming than in previous eras because we are much

better informed about them through modern means of news transmission. He was actually referring to newsreel broadcasts and

those words were delivered in 1952. But that started me thinking about how the word of God is a timeless word and addresses every generation.
