Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm married, but I'm so confused by what my husband is doing.

We've been in and out of love for 26 years, and when our last child moved out, so did my husband.

He said he wanted to remain married, but he needed some space.

He has an apartment around the corner from our house.

He comes over to the house for holiday dinners if the kids are here,

and it's like we're one big happy family again.

My own kids told me to change the locks and stop talking to him,

but I would rather remain on good terms with him.

Two years have passed, and he's still

living around the corner, and he hasn't mentioned what made him leave me, and I haven't asked.

If he felt like that was best for him at the time, then who am I to question him? He recently

had a change in his Facebook behavior, and my kids think it's because he saw pictures on Facebook of me and a new guy I'm seeing.

He assumed that I was going to cook on Easter, but I told him that I was going to be in Charleston with a friend.

He seemed hurt that the family would not be together, but I wasn't changing my plans.
