Please turn to Hebrews chapter 5 for this morning's text.

So page 1423 in the Bibles and the pew in front of you.

Versus 4 through 10.

And no one takes the honor to himself. The honor being spoken of is that of the high priest.

But receives it when he is called by God even as Aaron was.

So also Christ did not glorify himself so as to become a high priest,

but he who said to him,

Thou art my son, today I have begotten thee.

Just as he says also in another passage, thou are a priest forever according to the order of

Melkizadak.

In the days of Melkizadak.

In the days of his flesh, he offered up both prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears to the one able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his piety.

Although he was a son, he learned obedience from the things which he suffered.

And having been made perfect, he became to all those who obey him the source of eternal salvation,

being designated by God as a high priest according to the Order of Mel Kizadak. I want to hang the insights about Jesus Christ today on three words, and the words are

dignity, eternity, and purity.

And I know that they're big words for children and almost no children in this room right now, but I'm going to tell you what I said to the children in the first hour,

because what I have found is that most of the time when I address the children,

that's the time the adults understand me best.

And so what I said to them was that wise children say when they hear a big

word, Pastor John sure uses some big words and I don't understand them all the time but I'm glad

Pastor Don doesn't use words that I understand because then he would have to leave out some
