First Corinthians 15 and I'm going to share the message today is actually entitled

He is risen indeed. He is risen indeed. First Corinthians 15 is a chapter on the

resurrection of the dead.

Let me give you a little bit of background on this and that is that Paul is writing to the

Corinthian Church and he's writing to a church that came out of

Gnosticism.

Nosticism comes from a Greek word Ginosko, which means to know.

It means they worshipped knowledge.

The Corinthians were very heavily influenced by Greek mythology. They did not believe in the

resurrection of the dead a bodily resurrection for believers. They believed that

we were disembodied saints even though they believed in eternal life they didn't

believe we had a resurrected body so Paul calls the resurrection of Jesus as
