I know some churches don't do this.

The reason you don't see that we have an Easter egg drop after church,

and the reason you don't see an Easter bunny is because we're not celebrating a rabbit on today.

Chocolate is cool. I like chocolate, but we're not celebrating a chocolate rabbit on today.

We're not celebrating eggs on today. We're celebrating the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.

And not only is today a historical day, but it also commemorates a simple truth, and that is our God hears us. We needed a Redeemer. We needed a Savior. We needed somebody who could atone us for our sins. And God heard our prayers by sending us Christ.

And Christ bought us free of charge, but he still expects change back.

Let's go ahead and read this particular verse about the faithfulness of God

and how he heard us that we needed a Redeemer. 1 Peter chapter 3, verse 12, it says,

for the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are open to their prayers.

Depending on your translation, it says he is attentive to our cry.

Can I get everybody say, I'm so thankful that God heard me.

Father, in this moment, we want to thank you for being the resurrected king.

We want to thank you, O Lord, for seeing us as fit as dying for.

And we recognize on today, we don't just celebrate resurrection on today.

Each and every day of our lives, we're thankful that you defeated the grave.

We celebrate this moment because life put death to death so that your death is our death your punishment is our punishment so that when we take

our last breath in time we can stand boldly before the lord of glory guilt Guiltless, shameless, for there is no condemnation for those of us who are in Christ, Jesus.

We can stand before Yahweh knowing the blood covered it.

And we're thankful for the blood.
