Deliberations are underway in the criminal trial of Daryl Daniels.

Clay County's former top law.

Last month, a controversial former sheriff was on trial in Florida.

Although the former sheriff is accused of committing crimes in his official capacity,

it all stems from this affair.

Daryl Daniels was arrested in 2020 and charged with multiple crimes

after allegedly having his mistress arrested for stalking in 2019.

At least that's what investigators say.

Daniels himself denies that he ever asked deputies to arrest his girlfriend.

His defense insisted the trial was a witch hunt and tells jurors a deleted Google account was not an attempt to hide information from investigators, but from his wife to save his marriage.

Who is Daryl Daniels?

Daryl Daniels is a one-term sheriff in Clay County, Florida. He was unique, if not the only black sheriff at the time when he was elected. He wasn't the first in Florida, but Florida

has had only a handful of black sheriffs. He is a Republican. He was a very kind of flashy sheriff.

He earned a reputation for sort of being camera friendly. He used to host these sessions where you

could meet with the sheriff and have coffee. In fact, the local coffee shop even had like a brew
