Jesus promised his disciples that they would be opposed and persecuted for his namesake.

But this kind of opposition is not something unfamiliar to Jesus.

He himself has been rejected and even crucified.

He knows what disciples need most if we are to be faithful in a hostile world.

In this message from Mark 9 verses 1 through 13, David Platt points us to the glorious

revelation of Jesus Christ on the Mount of Transfiguration.

but the supreme revelation of God's glory to weak and simple people.

I'll mention as you're turning that our plan, starting next week, is to pause our journey

through the book of Mark and walk through two series together this summer, the first of which

we're calling, now I see it, and we were praying about how to best begin moving forward

from this significant moment in our church family, and we started thinking about significant

moments in our lives that we often can't see all that God is doing in that moment.
