| 0:45.7 | been a bit of controversy over the Christian commercials that aired during the Super Bowl last weekend, |
| 0:51.3 | the ones that had the tagline, He gets us. And those TV spots are just |
| 0:55.9 | part of a big multi-million dollar evangelistic campaign. It's got a website too. And I'm curious, |
| 1:01.6 | what are your thoughts about those ads and maybe on the campaign in general? |
| 1:06.3 | You know, I don't know, did you watch the Super Bowl? I did not watch the Super Bowl on Sunday, |
| 1:10.0 | but I heard all about these commercials. And so I went back and watched some of them. I'm actually looking at the website right now. It seems to me like a lot of the criticisms aren't necessarily related to the content. Of course, I mean, there are going to be some people who are upset about the content, but mostly, um, coming from people who are like, well, should we really have spent, should Christians really spend that much money on something like a Super Bowl ad? Um, and so I'll just say, I, you know, I watched the, the commercials. I don't know what you think about them, but there was one about Jesus loving his enemies, basically, you know, showed all these images of people who were in conflict, fighting. And at the very end of |
| 1:49.9 | the ad, it said something like Jesus loves the people we hate, which I thought was powerful, |
| 1:57.4 | and especially in our very divided age, where we almost feel justified in hating other |
| 2:03.3 | people. It's it's difficult for us to hear that Jesus loves the people who aren't like us, |
| 2:10.4 | who don't think like us, who don't vote like we do, the people that we think are ruining |
| 2:16.0 | the world that even them, Jesus loves and calls to himself. |
| 2:20.6 | This is a challenge there, I think, for everyone. |
| 2:23.6 | So I thought that that was great. |
| 2:25.1 | I've looked at the website. |
